Ryedale Show is one of the largest one day shows in North Yorkshire, running in excess of 90 classes for Horses and Ponies.  The show is located in Welburn Park near Kirkbymoorside, within the natural amphitheatre of the parkland, visitors and exhibitors have eight rings of horse classes running from 8.30 am until the finale of the day the Gymkhana Games – for the children of course!

Ryedale Show is affiliated to all the major showing societies and run qualifiers for all the major Society Championships. The affiliated societies are: Horse of the Year Show, Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse, Sport Horse Breeding (GB), British Show Horse Association, RoR, BSPS, Ponies (UK), NPS, NCPA, Chaps, Irish Draught Society (Blue Chip and IDHS Challenge) Cleveland Bay Society, British Driving Society (Osborne Qualifier) Shire Horse Society, Clydesdale Horse Society and all the Native Breed Societies.

The list of classes available are: Shires, Clydesdales, Heavy Horse Young Handler, Heavy Horse Turnouts, In Hand Hunters, In Hand Irish Draught, Cleveland Bays, Ridden and Working Hunters, Ridden Show Ponies, Ridden Show Hunter Ponies, Working Hunter Ponies, In Hand Show Pony Breeding, In Hand Mountain & Moorland, Ridden Mountain & Moorland, Mountain & Moorland WHP, Ridden and In Hand Coloureds, Ridden Cobs, Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse, Riding Horse. 

The Horse Committee looks at introducing new classes where time and space allow.

In 2017 we have included classes for Veteran Horses and Ponies.

In 2014 we held the new Novice Retrained Racehorse Class, and to accommodate the requests from competitors in previous years, the In Hand Shetland class was split so the Miniature Shetlands had a class of their own.

Entry for the Horse and Pony classes can be made on line, or by downloading the entry form and sending to the Horse Secretary at the address given on the entry form.
